This module discusses what coaching is through the lens of an ICF perspective. We will examine what coaching is, what coaching is not, and coaching compared to other helping professions.

Demonstrating Ethical Practice
This module discusses the updated ICF Core Competency 1: Demonstrates Ethical Practice. We will examine the definition and key characteristics associated with this competency.

ICF Code of Ethics Video Series
This module discusses the ICF Code of Ethics. We will examine in detail parts 1-5 of the ICF Code of Ethics.

Understanding the CMI Model
This module discusses the Coaching Mindset Index (CMI) Model. We will examine the four coaching styles--directive, engaged, supportive and independent; three coaching foundations--Sharing Feedback, Setting Goals and Finding Solutions; and six Push-Pull coaching strategies--Candor-Compassion, Performance-Development and Advocacy-Inquiry.

Embodies a Coaching Mindset
This module discusses the updated ICF Core Competency 2: Embodies a Coaching Mindset. We will examine the definition and key characteristics associated with this competency. Focus is on development of the presence of the coach.

Establishing and Maintaining Agreements
The module discusses the Updated ICF Competency 3: Establishes and Maintains Agreements. We will discuss the coaching agreements on three levels: the coaching contract, the overall coaching engagement and each coaching session.

Cultivating Trust and Safety
This module discusses the Updated ICF Competency 4: Cultivates and Trust and Safety. We will examine how to partner with a client to create a relationship that consists of mutual respect and trust and creates a safe and supportive environment that allows the client to share freely.

Maintaining Presence
This module discusses Updated ICF Competency 5: Maintains Presence. We will examine the definition and key characteristics associated with this competency. Emphasis is on the coaching session environment.

Listening Actively
This module discusses Updated ICF Competency 6: Listens Actively. We will examine what the client is and is not saying to fully understand what is being communicated.

Evoking Awareness
This module discusses Updated ICF Competency 7: Evokes Awareness. We will examine how to facilitate raising the level of awareness for the client by using questioning, silence, metaphor and analogy.

Facilitating Client Growth
This module discusses Updated ICF Competency 8: Facilitates Client Growth. We will examine how to partner with the client to transform learning and insight into action.
